Dressing for a formal attire wedding can be overwhelming and nobody wants to go on a panic shopping trip last minute. One thing to keep in mind is that despite the formal attire requirement, you do not necessarily need to conform to a certain style. You can wear a formal dress and still be true to your personality. Otherwise, how fun could a wedding be if you don’t feel like yourself.
So we edited and searched for what’s out there and narrowed the choices down to 3 dresses. Each one is styled to show two looks. First thing we kept in mind when picking these dresses is function. We don’t believe in one-occasion dressing so we selected gowns that you could wear even after the wedding. These can be worn at an office holiday party, nice dinner out, to the beach, etc. With the right accessories, you can dress these up or down.
Additionally, we selected silhouettes that will work for most body types, flowy, stretchy and forgiving so you can dance confidently even after enjoying that slice of cake. Enjoy!

Taking the plane with the whole family can be an “overwhelming thought,” but a little pre-planning can go a long way to ensure everyone stays comfortable.
Always handy to have a hat and this one by Rag & Bone is a floppy fedora, so it packs up easily and will keep you looking chic after a flight. Depending on weather conditions in your destination, sometimes a blazer is all I pack for a jacket because it works for day and night and keeps your look pulled together. I also always pack a pair of dark skinny jeans because of their versatility, again also works for day and night, looks good with flats or heels. It can get chilly in the plane and this wrap cardigan by All Saints is made with super soft jersey merino wool and layers up nicely. Having a tablet makes it so I don’t have to pack a notebook and housing it in a leopard case keeps it fun. Lara bars are made with minimal ingredients and whole food, come in many flavors and are a good healthy snack. Lip balm is a must because the plane can dry your skin out, EOS lip balm come in round shapes and yummy flavors, which make it easier to find in your bag. I love v-necks shirts and J.Crew makes a good worn in linen one, which is also great for layering. When I can’t have a smoothie , Odwalla drinks are my next option. Big scarves double as a blanket and this Cantaloupe colored one by Chan Luu is made of silk and cashmere and feels luxurious. This stylish tote by Graf & Lantz can carry all the essentials. Bloch ballet flats are my absolute favorite , they mold to your feet and can be worn all day and come in a variety of colors and prints.

All black Chanel will forever be a timeless look, worn here by chic French girl, and newish mom, Julia Restoin Roitfeld is. She is also the blogger behind Romy and the Bunnies, a stylish blog geared towards new and expectant moms. We thought it would be fun to create a look with color and a lower price point, but still maintain the classic appeal to it. The combo of navy and tan in the colorblock cardigan from Anthropologie has a Chanel inspired feel and will also look chic with denim. The vegan leather leggings by Blank NYC have the look and feel of leather without the guilt or the hefty price tag. Always good to have a pair of nude pumps in your closets because they are so versatile and this pair by Schutz have just the right amount of point to it and won’t go out of style. Again shying away from black, a quilted bag in an almond color by Rebecca Minkoff is unexpected, but will still be a universal piece.

Essentials to add to the kit for Mom & Dad.
This swimsuit by Michael Kors is stylish while concealing in the right places. Can’t go wrong with a Panama Hat by J.Crew. Flip flops in a gold color are neutral easy to pack and versatile. This cover up by Soft Joie comes in a zig zag print and can transition easily into an outfit. Havianas flip flops are comfortable and have some of the best options for men. Men’s board shorts don’t have to be plain and boring, J.Crew offers a variety in prints. Ray Bans are always a classic and look good on most men.
