Summer tends to bring daydreams of tropical get aways to mind. Than reality kicks in and maybe you can’t just make it to that remote tropical island, but you can incorporate some of it into your home. We were inspired by a post from Refinery 29, titled 13 Trips to Cross of Your Bucket List and Dedon Island was on that list that we plan to cross off our bucket list sooner than later, check out the site and you’ll see what we’re talking about, but don’t try to get there before we can!
We are constantly redecorating in our homes because we are both very visual people and love the creative process, but the key to not spending a fortune is to choose classic timeless pieces for the big ticket items and choosing moderately priced items for the accessories, so it won’t be such a big deal if you want to add a fresh new touch. The nailhead bed by Serena & Lily is one of those timeless pieces. The dark wood night stand by Williams & Sonoma adds a clean modern look and gives a good contrast against the linen colored bed. The coral lamp is a fun piece that can serve as a reminder of the beach. The bedding by Anthropologie is reminiscent of the waves in the sand and we love the fresh and clean look of white bedding. Adding pops of color with the striped rug and pillows will add to the vacation vibe. The ethnic print bench is a fun bold piece. Benjamin Moore paint is our go to paint because of their No VOC paint selections.
